ABOUT US
KPE Engineering is now located in Brackenfell, Western Cape. It was
established in 1983 as a supplier of processing, packaging and laboratory
equipment to the wine and beverage industries in the Western Cape.
Many of the products introduced to the wine and beverage industry have
become established brands. This has been achieved due to the quality,
functionality, efficiency and value for money that the range of products
represent. Most of the machinery and equipment that KPE Engineering
has sole distributorship rights to in South Africa is sourced from
Italy. In 2001, the ownership of KPE Engineering changed hands. The
new owners have extended the range of services offered by KPE Engineering
in order to address wider markets whilst maintaining the core focus
of the business on the wine and beverage market.
WINE
The growth of the upper end of South African wine market has
affected the product mix that KPE Engineering is offering
to the winemaker.
High quality wine processing equipment is now offered including
crushers, presses, peristaltic pumps, (Enoveneta), cooling
plants, filters,
(Nuova Enopieve) and tanks (Ghidi). As a result, KPE Engineering
can now offer a virtual one stop shop to the wine industry. The
quality of the external bottle washers/dryers (GAITEC), bottling,
(GAI and
Melegari), labeling (BRB GLOBUS and OMB), and packaging equipment
(APE and Comarme), that has been the backbone of KPE Engineering’s
success over the years remains a source of continued growth. The
diversity of the product range means that a turnkey solution can
be offered to all clients.
MINERAL WATER
This is a fast growing segment in South Africa. The increase
in demand brought about by health consciousness, the growth
in tourism and
the decline in quality and increase in costs of household water
has led to this industry’s growth. A line has been
installed by KPE Engineering that has the ability, on a single
production line,
to bottle both glass as well as PET bottles from 200ml to 2 litres.
